Course description Focus of this programme is: advisor in pig business, manager of a pig farm or entrepreneur in pig husbandry. The programme contains applied lectures and practical training, leading to applied farm analysis with translation to improved technical/economic results. This requires insight in the management aspects within different pig farms and the marketing opportunities for the farms. This implies that one should be aware of applicable production standards and using them in an appropriate way and understand the function of the possible markets. The focus also implies that one should be a discussion partner for stakeholders like managers, veterinarians, feed suppliers and consumers, peppered with a lot of practical examples. A well-motivated business plan for a pig farm is written.
