Course summary This programme offers new possibilities for you, as an Occupational Therapist. You will be inspired to look at Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science from a cross-cultural point of view.
Course description You will have the opportunity to design and conduct research on an occupational therapy subject. You will develop your analytical and clinical reasoning skills and learn to implement research outcomes. Your increasing knowledge and research skills will enable you to grow professionally and as a researcher. The degree will open up new career perspectives both in your home country and abroad. About 90% of graduates had a promotion at their work. The course is accredited in The Netherlands and offered by the Amsterdam University in collaboration with four international Partners in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden (see programme website for details: www.ot-euromaster.eu).
Study subjects Exploration of concepts of occupation and research; Societal and scientific aspects of occupational therapy and occupational science; Scientific reasoning about human occupation, diversity, culture and participation; Evaluating and enhancing occupational performance; Planning and conducting a research project within the body of knowledge of the occupational therapy discipline.
Course objectives Further the knowledge of human occupation, valuing diversity & culture for improving health, wellbeing & social participation; make judgements about research methodology, critically appraiss & implement research findings; apply knowledge about human occupation, integrating social- and bio-medical aspects; advance an European dimension within OT & OS; foster autonomous, life long learning.

  2. BSc degree from an Occupational Therapy School approved by the WFOT or equivalent to that.
  3. Students can be considered equivalent to BSc in OT, by demonstrating their academic abilities in a professional portfolio.
