Course summary The Dance Department of the Royal Conservatoire provides the Bachelor course Dance. This course has one graduation specialisation: Academic Theatre Dance.
Course description In order to earn a place in one of the great (inter)national dance companies it is necessary to get intensive training from the age of ten, in which you will be dancing many hours every day. In this regard the comparison with sport at the highest level is a valid one. During training there is ample opportunity for the students to get performing experience. Through performances in the school and possibly working in companies and other performances, the student learns to combine the techniques which are trained in the studios with the facets of the professional world. The remarkable atmosphere of the Dance Department and the world of the professional theatre have ensured for more than 50 years that students can realise their dream.
Study subjects The Dance Department has always taken the greatest care in discovering and training young dance talent. This experience has lead to the current curriculum. The department expects of its students that they are creative, artistic, open, generous, and committed.
