Course summary The master's specialisation Data Science for Statistical Science combines a broad basis in modern statistics with state-of-the-art knowledge in Data Science.
Course description The Data Science for Statistical Science specialisation gives you a better understanding of statistical models, especially in relation to Data Science, including their application and interpretation in a broad range of empirical research. With this knowledge, you'll be able to critically study scientific research and develop new models and techniques. Topics that will be discussed within this programme are Data Mining, Machine Learning, Networks, Pattern Recognition, and Deep Learning. Are you interested in the statistical aspects of data science and its application? Do you feel at ease with and be attracted to quantitative and mathematical techniques and concepts? Then the master's specialisation in data science is the right choice. You will learn practical skills such as statistical programming, statistical consultation, database management and written and oral presentation of analysis and research results.

Course objectives You will follow compulsory courses in the core statistical science programme, and use the electives to follow courses in Computer Science to gain more in-depth knowledge.
