Course summary How to design, plan, run and evaluate a successful public service or social action media campaign.
Course description This course is for experienced media professionals and communication experts working for development NGOs whose task it is to design and run social or development campaigns. Applicants are expected to have at least three years' experience in the field. By the end of the course, you will be able to craft strong stories using creative formats. This will give you the confidence, competence, and the tools you need to produce creative, powerful, and persuasive media campaigns on any subject and for any media. After the course, you will understand the theories of story, formats, creativity, learning, persuasion, and audience mapping and be able to put them into practice. You will also have mastered new original techniques which will allow you to identify and craft original ingredients to make any campaign a success. Once you have graduated, you will understand how to identify precise realistic aims and target communities. You will be able to reach your audiences with campaigns containing inspiring and engaging stories on any media or platform.
Study subjects The 3-week course explores a combination of theories and practices needed to make real, measurable and impactful media campaigns. Some of the topics covered: - Media formats - Story theory and creativity - Targeting/mapping audiences - Designing and planning effective media/communication campaigns - Running and evaluating public service and social action campaigns
Course objectives Participants will understand the theory and be able to design, plan, run and evaluate an effective public service or social action (digital) media campaigns for specific and relevant target groups.
