Course summary The Master's programme in Strategic Management focuses on strategy processes and their management in organizations in relationship to their dynamic and complex environment.
Course description In accordance with the prevailing ideas in the field, Strategic Management addresses the various theoretical frameworks, models and instruments for describing and analysing the influences of the various stakeholders, strategy process in organizations, external environment, and internationalisation. We offer the courses: Corporate Strategy; Strategic Change; Strategic Decision Making; Strategy and Nonmarket Environment; Competition and Cooperation; Strategic Scenarios and Business Models. We train our students to become creative, flexible, resourceful, responsible, independent and critical thinkers and strategic & business experts that help them to develop skills and ideas for business solutions based on a thorough academic understanding of business practice. Students are challenged to apply the theories and models to real world cases and should do assignments within organisations. Career perspectives are for instance consultant, business analyst, researcher and manager. The Master's in Strategic Management is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Business Administration.
Study subjects This specialisation focuses on specific areas of strategy and management, such as network management, strategic change, strategic decision-making, strategic supply chain management, business policy and internationalisation. The programme also provides methodology for a strategy research perspective. Students will be able to manage theoretical frameworks critically, maintaining close ties with organisations. This small-scale high-quality education provides excellent footage for the job market.
Course objectives The objective of the specialisation is for students to gain in-depth knowledge of strategic processes and to link them with insights from other business areas in order to train students in conducting academic research and decision making and developing ideas for underlying business solutions. The Master's programme in Strategy prepares future leaders for the business world as it offers students a wide range of career perspectives: consultant, business analyst, researcher or manager.

Admission requirements
  1. In order to take part in this programme, you need to have fluency in both written and spoken English.This requirement has been satisfied when the student meets one of the following conditions: Has successfully completed a three-year Bachelor's programme at a Dutch university. Is a citizen of Australia, Canada (with exception of Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or the United States of America. Has successfully completed a Bachelor's programme that was taught completely in the English language in one of the following countries: EU/EEA-countries, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States of America. Has successfully completed a Master's programme from a Dutch university of applied sciences (HBO).
  2. A Dutch Bachelor's degree (or equivalent, from a research university) in Business Administration, as evaluated by the Examination Board.
