Course summary The interaction between computer science (software)and electrical engineering (hardware) requires an integrated approach. You'll have to draw on knowledge of both software and hardware.
Course description Embedded systems: you will find these in dozens of products that we use every day, such as television sets and copiers. The combination of computer science (software) and electrical engineering (hardware) in these types of equipment requires an integrated approach towards the design process. And that in turn requires a new type of engineer who has a knowledge of both software and hardware. The emphasis of the Master's degree program in Embedded Systems lies on the design of efficient and reliable systems. In order to be able to construct reliable protocols for the behavior of complex software systems, you need to have knowledge of algorithms, performance, hardware and design and documentation methods. These subjects are all covered during the Master's program. You also need an understanding of the variability and maintainability of these protocols. These aspects are covered in the compulsory element of the Master's program. The Master's program in Embedded Systems is a joint program of the 3TU Federation: a collaboration between the 3 universities of technology in the Netherlands.

Course objectives Embedded systems design from the architectural level down to silicon - via requirements engineering, testing and IC design on a sound scientific basis.

  1. For admission a minimum of 75% CGPA. For entry to Amandus H. Lundqvist Scholarship Program (ALSP) a minimum of 80% CGPA.
  2. BSc in computer science or electrical engineering. Sufficient knowledge of continuous and discrete mathematics.
