Course description Would you like to work on innovative technological solutions for the high-tech industry, healthcare or other domain? Apply for a position in a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) program at TU/e and become an expert at high-level technological design. Almost all programs are taught in English. About the PDEng PDEng positions are 2-year, full-time, paid positions in a wide variety of disciplines. As an employee of TU/e, you will receive a salary. Upon completion of the program, you will be awarded the PDEng degree. The PDEng ST prepares trainees for the position of software designer and architect.The software designer distinguishes him/herself from the software engineer by a.o. the capability for solving software problems of a greater complexity. The two doctorates side by side A PDEng program is on par with a PhD program. The difference is their focus: a PhD is aimed to establish you as a researcher and a PDEng prepares you for a high-level position in industry. A PDEng program is a challenging, balanced combination of theory and practice. Besides following courses you will design an innovative industrial product or process in a large-scale, multidisciplinary setting.

Admission

Admission requirements
  1. The ST programme offers paid positions, for which candidates have to apply (similiar to PhD positions).
  2. Better than good social and communicative skills, problem-solving attitude, team work has to be favored.
  3. De kandidaat dient tot de top 15 - 20 % van zijn/haar generatie te horen.
  4. English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS score of at least 6.5 on average and no score less than 6.0. Results of TOEFL should be at least 550 and no score less than sufficient can be accepted.
  5. MSc in computer science or a strongly related field with computer science elements. BSc in computer science (excellent scores and > 4 years of relevant experience).
  6. If BSc level: 4 years significant, and relevant working experience.
  7. The candidate has to motivate his/her interest in the program.
  8. The candidate has to provide a significant piece of quality code of their own and should be able to discuss assorted code examples.
