Course description The two-year, English-taught Master’s programme Industrial Engineering & Management at the University of Twente is an internationally oriented programme that trains you to design, manage and optimize processes in complex organizations operating in a global context. This acclaimed programme is all about helping businesses with the new and increasingly complex challenges they face. Our unique blend of cross-disciplinarity and application will equip you to analyse highly complex organizational problems, design cutting-edge, workable solutions, and successfully implement them. Our unique specializations – Financial Engineering & Management (FEM), Healthcare Technology & Management (HCTM), and Production & Logistic Management (PLM) – prepare you for the role of problem solver skilled in handling specific complexities and unpredictability in a responsible, hands-on manner. In addition to your specialization, you can choose from various orientations to adapt the programme to your precise interests and ambitions. Graduates quickly find challenging, well-paid jobs in a variety of areas – for example, in consultancy or research, or with a corporate, government or healthcare organization.
Study subjects The programme comprises a total of 120 EC over a period of two years. There are 3 specializations: Production and Logistic Management (PLM); Healthcare Technology and Management (HCTM); Financial Engineering and Management (FEM). The IEM programme offers six common courses (30EC) open for all students. Each specialization offers two bridging courses (10 EC), a number of specific specialization courses and a final thesis (30 EC).
Course objectives The master’s programme in Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) focuses on the development and management of processes within or between companies. Your extensive knowledge can be put to use to provide optimum support for making decisions about organizing and managing business processes. The aim is to gain a better understanding of the relationship between process development and process control and the relevant achievement indicators.

Admission requirements
  1. CGPA of at least 80% of the maximum score
  2. Bachelor degree in a related field
  3. Clear and relevant statement of motivation for one of the specialisations
  4. It is required to have a bachelor degree in a related field and knowledge of the following topics: Research Methodology, Statistics/Mathematics. Disregarding your previous education, you always need Mathematics B and English at pre-university level if you want to apply for the master's Industrial Engineering and Management.
