Course description The three-year English-taught Bachelor’s programme Applied Mathematics (AM) will equip you to bring mathematical clarity to complex societal challenges, for example, in the environmental domain, in mobility, technology, banking, or healthcare. While covering all the theory and skills you would expect from a Bachelor’s in math – calculus, linear algebra, probability and much more – this ‘Top-rated’ programme also has a strong focus on practical application. You will become an expert in using tools like modelling to reduce complex, real-life issues to their mathematical essence and to identify the best solutions. With some 60 to 70 first-year students, this is a small-scale programme with little distance between staff and students and a lot of room for personal attention and initiative. Its interdisciplinary, international orientation will familiarize you with working in mixed teams. With a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree, you will find many job opportunities, for example, as an R&D specialist with a tech firm, in logistics or process optimization, as an advisor or policymaker with a (semi-)government organization, in the academic world, or as a teacher or researcher in education.
