Course description | The three-year English-taught Bachelor’s programme Mechanical Engineering (ME) will equip you to invent, design, improve and maintain devices, machines, constructions and processes. You will become an independent, academically grounded engineer who understands the technology our society relies on – whether it is for a roller coaster, an aeroplane wing, a future energy installation, an innovative hearing aid, or the hinges for a robotic hand. ME combines theory with practical projects and is a challenging programme for resourceful, hard workers with strong analytical abilities. You will become firmly anchored in all the disciplines fundamental to mechanical engineering, such as mathematics and modelling, mechanics and materials, design and manufacturing, and energy and heat transfer. This highly personal and informally organized programme is internationally oriented, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork. With a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree, you will find many job opportunities in the machine or equipment building industry, at a research institute or engineering firm, in healthcare, or in the automotive, aerospace, chemical or electro-technical industry. |
