Course summary In the Master's programme Sociology and Social Research, you will learn to develop explanations for relevant social phenomena using state-of-the-art social theory.
Course description -
Study subjects In the first year you take regular courses, attend research seminars and participate in a masterclass taught by a visiting professor from abroad. Most of your second year will be spent on your Master's thesis which is written in the form of a publishable research article. These articles are often published in international journals.
Course objectives In this two-year Master's programme, you will learn to operate as a highly qualified social science researcher with a clear focus on social cohesion and inequality. You will also learn to integrate sociological theory and empirical research by means of state-of-the-art statistical analyses. Your studies will fully equip you to become a PhD candidate.
