Course description | If you choose for Economics and Business Economics in Utrecht, you choose for a broad-based view of this field of study, the real-world perspective. Economics in Utrecht analyses complex economic issues by combining economic theories with the insights of other fields such as geography, law and social sciences. By using this approach to study societal issues such as the emergence of social media or the development of unemployment in the Netherlands and Europe, you will learn to see these issues from different perspectives and will learn to think in terms of solutions and consequences. Required courses in the first year are mathematics, statistics, multidisciplinary economics, macro- and microeconomics and accounting amongst others. Your insights will be enriched by the international learning environment. The programme crosses multiple borders: language borders, geographical borders and the borders of other disciplines. |
Study subjects | The three-year Bachelor´s programme in Economics and Business Economics consists of two parts: the major and the optional course profile. The major is your main area of study and covers three quarters of your total course profile. The major consists of two parts: (1) basic courses and (2) electives.
