Course description Firms and policy makers face increasingly integrated and turbulent markets, with unprecedented opportunities but also greater risks. The understanding of how markets function, when they fail and how various markets are interrelated is essential in companies' strategic decision process as well as in solving social economic and development problems. The MSc Economics trains your analytical and practical skills along these dimensions and helps you to become an expert in the field. The program offers several specialized tracks but you can also compose your own personalised curriculum. Study subjects The program consists of 60 ECTS, offered over two semesters. You take four methods courses (3 ECTS each), five expertise courses (6 ECTS each), and -for an optimal exposure to the practice of the economic analyst- you take the experience course Applied Economic Analysis which culminates in thesis writing and/or project work (18 ECTS together). Examples of expertise courses: Competition and Innovation, Environmental and Resource Economics, Labor Economics, Financial Economics, Data Science
Course objectives Students will learn how to analyse and interpret current economic issues in a general, international, financial and business context.

Admission requirements
  1. Proficiency in English is required. Students who obtained their Bachelor's degree in the Netherlands and native English speakers can be admitted without an English proficiency test.
  2. A solid academic background is required in the fields of: *Macroeconomics *Microeconomics *Mathematics *Statistics *Game Theory *Industrial Organization And at least one of the following ◦Labour Economics ◦Environmental Economics ◦Public Economics ◦Development Economics ◦International Economics ◦European Economics
  3. The minimum GRE score for applicants is 160 on the quantitative part.
  4. University Bachelor's degree in a relevant field in Economics
  5. Students need to submit a motivation letter in their application
