Course summary Amsterdam University College is a joint institute of the VU University Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam, and offers an international and interdisciplinary liberal arts and sciences programme.
Course description Amsterdam University College (AUC) offers a top quality, selective, English-taught, international Bachelor programme that crosses the boundaries of languages, cultures and academic disciplines. Discussions start from -Big Questions” in science and society and lead to in-depth studyin a wide range of disciplines. You can major in the sciences, social sciencesor humanities. Substantial emphasis is placed on scientific reasoning within an interdisciplinary approach. AUC enrolls up to 50% science majors. As a residential and selective honours college, AUC attracts students from allover the world who study and live together on our brand-new campus. As anAUC student you form part of an engaging academic and social community,which is supported by small class-size, a residential campus and a stronginternational setting, with 50% of the students having an internationalbackground. AUC enrolls up to 50% science majors.

Course objectives Big questions and real-world issues The AUC programme combines breadth of experience with depth of knowledge. A key aspect is tackling the real-life problems and challenges facing today's world. From day one, you are expected to think about the 'Big Questions' in science and society, and learn how to make a meaningful contribution to current debates. As today's students, but also tomorrow's leaders, you will have to be successful in both cooperating and competing at an international level.
