Course summary The master Animal Sciences is an internationally oriented programme for students interested in and feel respondibel for the animals in our society.
Course description The focus is to deliver skilled professional animal scientists who are well equipped to tackle problems related to sustainable livestock development as well as to the management of livestock and companion animals. The animal-human interaction plays an important role in this study programme. Themes like animal nutrition, animal health, animal welfare, levels of management, genetic diversity and socio-economic factors are all widely discussed.
Study subjects Students can choose from the following specialisations: Animal Breeding and Genetics; Animal Nutrition; Applied Zoology; Animal Health and Behaviour; Animal Health Management and Animal Production Systems.
Course objectives Academic training in the field of sustainable livestock development as well as the management of companion animals, wildlife and zoo animals. The animal - human interaction plays an important role in this programme. Graduates may continue academic training (PhD) or start a professional career requiring independent scientific performance.
